Tooth Color Fillings:


Dramatic improvements in tooth color filling materials and techniques make them the fillings of choice in most instances. Tooth color fillings are made of composite resin that directly bonds to teeth and is hardened in seconds by a powerful visible light. The many advantages of these fillings include high esthetics, strength, direct adhesion to teeth and polishablilty. Bonded fillings allow the removal of the least amount of tooth structure prior to placement and increased color stability. These fillings take the dentist a little more time to complete because of the multiple steps involved, which are technique sensitive, but the esthetic benefits are worth the extra effort.

About Michael Burstein DDS

Dr. Burstein earned his Bachelors of Arts (BA) degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1975 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1978. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.


Dr. Burstein has served on the Executive Board and is President of the Queens County Dental Society and he has represented Queens County to the Education Council for the New York State Dental Society. He is a current member of both the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association. Dr. Burstein has over fifteen hundred hours of continuing education credits in all phases of dentistry.


Dr. Burstein has been practicing in the New York metro area for over 25 years. He regularly writes a health column in a local paper and is a frequent contributor to the local and state dental journals. Dr. Burstein has also served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Prosthodontics at New York University and is an Attending at Jamaica Hospital. Dr. Burstein has a great deal of skill in artistically placing porcelain veneers, crowns and bridges to give you that smile you've always wanted.


Dr. Burstein and his family reside in Dix Hills and are actively involved in the community.
